To get all this sound into Ableton, though, you'll need a thing called an audio interface. Ableton also comes with a bunch of sounds and a few soft-synths, so if you just want a basic drum beat, you can punch it into Ableton itself instead of using a drum machine. You could keep using the MF's sequencer (and have it in sync with Ableton's recording) or sequence the MF entirely from Ableton (so you can record longer patterns, not limited to 16 steps or however long the MF can do).
